This is an invitation to arrive slowly, to be held, and to let the body remember what it already knows.
We begin with ceremony — a carob cacao blend drawn from the land around us, prepared and held by Ashik and Laxmi. Carob has grown in these hills for centuries. It sweetens without rushing. It opens without forcing. The ceremony is a threshold: a chance to arrive fully, to set down what you’ve been carrying, and to feel the ground beneath you before you move.
Then the music begins.
Tiago Rouxinol brings live sound to carry you into ecstatic dance — a space with no steps to learn, no performance to give. Just your body, the rhythm, and the support of the land of Awakeland. Move as you need to. Rest when you need to. Find the edges of yourself, or let them dissolve.

About the facilitators
Ashik & Laxmi
Ashik & Laxmi are the co-creators of Awakeland. They have held ceremonial and transformational spaces together for many years — in Portugal and beyond. Their way of holding is unhurried, embodied, and rooted in deep trust of the process.
Tiago Rouxinol
Tiago is a musician and sound artist whose live sets move between the acoustic and the elemental. His music for ecstatic dance is not background — it is invitation.
What to bring
Comfortable clothes you can move in freely. A layer for the evening air. An open body and no agenda.
No experience of ceremony or dance is needed. This evening is for everyone.
